American Express (Amex)

This blog is only for the informational purpose. It contains writer's personal experience and knowledge about credit cards. Reader's are requested to follow their own judgements while deciding which card to apply.

If you are looking for a credit card with high cash back returns, then, I would definitely suggest Amex. American Express has a variety of options when it comes to Credit Cards. Since this blog focuses mostly on college students, I will be discussing only about ($0 annual fee) American Express Credit Cards. There are different Amex cards which do not have annual fee. I have tried listing some of the popular ones.

  • Amex EveryDay® Credit Card
  • Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express
  • Delta SkyMiles®
  • American Express Cash Magnet® Card
  • Blue from American Express®

Benefits of Amex EveryDay® Credit Card (Amex) :

  • No annual Fee.

  • The cash back is bit different that other cards. Amex has point system. You will be earning points when you spend for different items. 100 points worth $1. It might sound small but imagine you earning 10,000 points on bigger purchases, it will be worth $100. Pretty good right?

  • Low rates on hotels and flight booking.

  • Excellent mobile app quality. Everything is very easy to use and understand.

  • Free FICO ( Fair Isaac Corporation ) Score check.

I have been using Amex EveryDay® Credit Card for two years now. Honestly, I enjoy their points system cash back. Also they offer 2X cash back on US supermarket expenses. This option is really beneficial if you are not getting 5% cash back from the Discover Credit Card on certain purchases.

I have been using Discover Student Card for couple of years now and I personally think this card is one of the best credit card among all.

Also, you should not prefer to apply for new credit card if you have recently applied for one unless you really need it. This way you will not let your credit score go down.

If you already have a Discover Card, its time to think little further now. You can check my other post to apply for American Express Card or Capital One Card.
